Am I a bad boyfriend?

My girlfriend just asked me for some space, She's right though, I've been choking her up on everything, she does need space so I said okay. Hearing this I think I'm an asshole for not letting her do whatever she wants, I was selfish of everyone about her. She lost some of her friends, now no one would hang out with her and I feel such an asshole. Do you guys think I'm a bad boyfriend to her?
