Why does my car choke 82 toyota celica?

Hi I have a 82 toyota celica carburated at any speed 10mph to 60mph if i step on the gas hard the car will choke it will not turn off but it will pull kind of hard so i was wondering what can i do to stop this from happenning the car just passed the smog test inspection on june 28th pls if you have any advice let me know
