Some advice with gaming gear?

I have a a gameboy micro that's a year-and-a-half old. The paint has worn off from the L and R buttons, so now they look like small world maps. The paint has also faded from the start and select buttons. What should I do? repaint it (despite the risks of it not working), live with it, get a new one, or never use it again, or keep on using it and ignore the paint loss? this might seem like a stupid question, but hey, we all have our pet peeves. Points for anyone who could answer! Thanks!
