Have I understood this wrong - friend let's me down?

An acquantaince contacted me asking to meet for lunch as we had spoken about doing so some time back. I agreed and arranged a time and place. She called one hour before meeting and left a message to this effect, "hubby is sick and he wants me to stay with him but I was wondering if you were going up the club tonight he might/should be well enough by then that he might go too." I feel that if he's so sick she can't leave him for lunch, how is he going to be well enough to go to the club later. I merely texted a reply. OK. I feel like I don't mean anything and I'm peeved. Am I being unreasonable? Should I have asked for more details? Although on the surface she has no idea I feel like this. What would you understand from this? Am I overreacting and just being silly sensitive? Maybe let it go, since she is not a friend friend as such anyway? It just doesn't make me feel so good. Thanks guys.
